What is this medicine?
APEESEZ (Haloperidol) is an antipsychotic medicine. It is used to treat certain mental/mood disorders such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorders, and severe behavioral problems in children. It can also be used to control motor and verbal tics in Tourette’s syndrome and treat severe agitation or hyperactivity. It works by helping to restore the balance of certain natural substances (neurotransmitters) in the brain.

How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. Follow the directions on your prescription label. Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Do not suddenly stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

What should I watch for while using this medicine?
Visit your doctor or health care provider for regular check-ups. It may take several weeks for you to see the full effects of this medicine.
You may get drowsy or dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that requires alertness until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid alcohol, as it can increase drowsiness or dizziness.
This medicine can cause serious movement disorders. Contact your doctor if you notice symptoms like uncontrollable muscle movements, tremors, or stiffness.
Tell your doctor if you develop fever, confusion, sweating, or irregular heartbeat—these may be signs of a rare but serious condition called neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS).
Elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis treated with this drug are at increased risk of death.
Avoid extreme temperatures, especially heat, as haloperidol can impair your ability to regulate body temperature.
