What is this medicine?
SHYTOMEL (Liothyronine Sodium) is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone triiodothyronine (T3). It is used to treat hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid), certain types of goiters, and as part of diagnostic tests for thyroid function. It may also be used in the treatment of myxedema coma and as an adjunct in thyroid cancer treatment.
