What is this medicine?

PREGABEL contains Pregabalin, an antiepileptic (anticonvulsant) and neuropathic pain agent. It is used to treat nerve pain associated with conditions such as diabetic neuropathy, shingles (post-herpetic neuralgia), spinal cord injury, and fibromyalgia. It is also used in combination with other medications to treat partial-onset seizures and for generalized anxiety disorder in some cases. It works by calming overactive nerves in the brain.


What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • Kidney disease or are on dialysis

  • Heart disease, especially heart failure

  • History of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts

  • Drug or alcohol addiction

  • Lung or breathing problems

  • Swelling in hands, legs, or feet

  • Any serious allergic reaction in the past to Pregabalin

How should I use this medicine?
