What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • type 1 diabetes

  • diabetic ketoacidosis

  • severe kidney disease or are on dialysis

  • liver disease

  • history of pancreatitis

  • heart disease or heart failure

  • alcohol use disorder

  • an unusual or allergic reaction to teneligliptin or other medications

  • pregnant or trying to get pregnant

  • breast-feeding


How should I use this medicine?

Take this medicine by mouth with or without food, usually once daily, or as directed by your doctor.

Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than prescribed. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.


What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses at once.


What may interact with this medicine?

  • other oral anti-diabetic drugs (e.g., sulfonylureas, metformin)

  • insulin

  • corticosteroids

  • diuretics

  • beta-blockers

  • alcohol
