What is this medicine?

FUNG 200 mg Tablet contains Fluconazole, an antifungal medicine. It is used to treat and prevent fungal infections such as candidiasis (thrush), cryptococcal meningitis, and certain types of yeast infections in the mouth, throat, esophagus, lungs, urinary tract, and genital area. It works by stopping the growth of certain types of fungi.


What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • Liver disease

  • Kidney disease

  • Irregular heartbeat or heart rhythm disorders (especially QT prolongation)

  • Low blood levels of potassium, magnesium, or calcium

  • Weakened immune system (e.g., HIV/AIDS, cancer treatment)

  • Alcohol use disorder

  • An unusual or allergic reaction to fluconazole, other antifungal medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives

  • Pregnant or trying to get pregnant

  • Breast-feeding


How should I use this medicine?

Take this medicine by mouth with a full glass of water. You can take it with or without food. Follow the instructions provided by your doctor or pharmacist.

Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Take the full course even if you feel better before finishing the medication. Do not stop taking it unless directed by your healthcare provider.
