What is this medicine?

CENFORCE 100 mg contains Sildenafil Citrate, a PDE5 inhibitor. It is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation to help achieve and maintain an erection. This medicine will not work without sexual stimulation.


What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • Heart disease, recent heart attack or stroke

  • Chest pain or angina

  • High or low blood pressure

  • Liver or kidney disease

  • Bleeding disorders

  • Blood cell disorders (such as sickle cell anemia, leukemia)

  • Stomach ulcers

  • Deformity of the penis (such as Peyronie’s disease)

  • Retinitis pigmentosa or other eye disorders

  • Hearing or vision problems

  • History of priapism (prolonged or painful erection)

  • If you take nitrates for chest pain

  • An unusual or allergic reaction to sildenafil or other PDE5 inhibitors

  • Pregnant or trying to get pregnant (not intended for women)

  • Breast-feeding


How should I use this medicine?

Take this medicine by mouth with a full glass of water. It is usually taken 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity, and no more than once in 24 hours. It may be taken with or without food. Fatty meals may delay its effectiveness. Sexual stimulation is required for this medicine to work.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately.


What if I miss a dose?

Cenforce is used as needed, so a missed dose is not typically applicable. Do not take extra doses to make up for a missed one.


What may interact with this medicine?

  • Nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate) — dangerous drop in blood pressure

  • Alpha-blockers (used for high blood pressure or prostate problems)

  • Other medicines for erectile dysfunction

  • HIV protease inhibitors (e.g., ritonavir, saquinavir)

  • Certain antifungals (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole)

  • Certain antibiotics (e.g., erythromycin, clarithromycin)

  • Grapefruit or grapefruit juice

  • Alcohol
