What is this medicine?

MYHEP LVIR is a combination of Ledipasvir and Sofosbuvir, both of which are antiviral medications. This medicine is used to treat chronic hepatitis C infection in adults. It works by reducing the amount of hepatitis C virus in the body and helps the immune system fight the infection. It may prevent the virus from multiplying and may reduce the chance of long-term liver damage like cirrhosis or liver cancer.


What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • Other liver diseases (besides hepatitis C)

  • History of hepatitis B infection (may reactivate)

  • Kidney disease

  • Heart rhythm problems or if you take amiodarone

  • HIV or AIDS

  • If you are taking other hepatitis C medications

  • Any planned surgery or dental procedures

  • If you are lactose intolerant (this tablet may contain lactose)

  • An unusual or allergic reaction to Ledipasvir, Sofosbuvir, or any other medicines

  • Pregnant or trying to get pregnant

  • Breast-feeding


How should I use this medicine?

Take this medicine by mouth with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Take it at the same time each day to maintain consistent levels in your body.

Take the full course as prescribed, even if you feel better before it’s completed. Do not stop without consulting your doctor.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.


What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.


What may interact with this medicine?

  • Antacids (should be taken 4 hours apart from this medicine)

  • Rifampin, carbamazepine, phenytoin (may reduce effectiveness)

  • Amiodarone (may cause serious bradycardia when combined with Sofosbuvir)

  • St. John’s Wort (herbal remedy)

  • HIV medications (like tenofovir or efavirenz)

  • Digoxin and certain statins (levels may be altered)

  • This medicine does not prevent transmission of hepatitis C. Avoid sharing needles, razors, or toothbrushes, and practice safe sex to reduce risk of transmission.

  • Slow or irregular heartbeat

  • Chest pain

  • Shortness of breath

  • Dizziness or fainting

  • Signs of allergic reaction: rash, itching, swelling, or difficulty breathing

  • Signs of liver problems: yellow skin/eyes, severe fatigue, dark urine, upper right abdominal pain

Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report if persistent or bothersome):

  • Headache

  • Fatigue
