What is this medicine?
DUTAFOX contains Dutasteride, which is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor.
This medicine is used in men to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) — an enlarged prostate gland — by shrinking the prostate and improving urine flow. It helps relieve symptoms like difficulty urinating, weak stream, and frequent urination (especially at night).
It is not intended for use in women or children.
What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth, with or without food, at the same time each day.
Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush, or open the capsule, as the contents can irritate the mouth or throat.
Do not stop taking this medicine without your doctor’s advice — it may take up to 6 months to see full benefit.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take only the next scheduled dose.
Do not take double doses.
What may interact with this medicine?

Women who are or may become pregnant must not handle broken capsules — the drug can be absorbed through the skin and may cause birth defects in male fetuses.
