What is this medicine?

CARDIOROSTIN contains Rosuvastatin, which is a statin (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor). This medicine is used to lower “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides, and to increase “good” cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It helps reduce the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other complications in individuals at high cardiovascular risk.

liver disease or abnormal liver function tests
kidney disease
thyroid problems (hypothyroidism)

How should I use this medicine?

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room right away.

What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

What may interact with this medicine?

other statins (e.g., atorvastatin, simvastatin)
cyclosporine
gemfibrozil
warfarin and other blood thinners
antacids containing aluminum or magnesium (take rosuvastatin at least 2 hours before or after these)
HIV or hepatitis C medicines (e.g., ritonavir, lopinavir)
niacin (high doses)
