What is this medicine?
BILTREE 600 mg contains Praziquantel, an anthelmintic (anti-worm) medicine. It is used to treat schistosomiasis (bilharzia) and liver fluke infections, caused by parasitic flatworms. It works by paralyzing and killing the worms, which are then removed from the body naturally.
What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

Eye infections caused by parasites (ocular cysticercosis)

How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth with a full glass of water. It is usually taken with food to increase absorption. Swallow the tablets whole—do not chew or break unless directed by your doctor.
Follow the dosing schedule prescribed by your doctor carefully. Do not take more or less than directed.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

What should I watch for while using this medicine?

You may feel dizzy or drowsy after taking the medicine. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.

You may notice dead worms in your stool—this is normal.

Report any new or worsening symptoms such as seizures, confusion, or allergic reactions.

Follow up with your doctor to confirm that the infection has cleared.
Pregnant women should use this medication only if clearly needed. Discuss risks and benefits with your doctor. Breastfeeding should be avoided for 72 hours after the last dose.
