What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?

  • Pregnant or trying to get pregnant
  • Breast-feeding

How should I use this medicine?

Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. It can be swallowed whole or dissolved in a glass of water and stirred before drinking. Take your doses as advised by your doctor. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Drink plenty of water while on treatment with this medicine, as it helps to prevent dehydration and kidney damage.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once. Aciclovir 400mg Tablets are not usually harmful unless you take too much over several days.

What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
