What is this medicine?
BOLOGNAA 400mg TABLETS contain Aciclovir, which is an antiviral medicine. It is used to treat viral infections caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV) and varicella-zoster virus (VZV). This includes:
- Herpes labialis (cold sores)
- Genital herpes infection
- Shingles (herpes zoster)
- Chickenpox
- Other herpes simplex virus infections
- Eye infections by Herpes simplex virus
- It may also be used in people with weakened immune systems to stop these problems from returning.
Aciclovir works by preventing the multiplication of the virus in human cells, thereby helping to clear the infection.
What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:
- Kidney disease
- Liver disease
- If you are over 65 years of age
- An unusual or allergic reaction to aciclovir, other antiviral medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
- Pregnant or trying to get pregnant
- Breast-feeding
How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. It can be swallowed whole or dissolved in a glass of water and stirred before drinking. Take your doses as advised by your doctor. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Drink plenty of water while on treatment with this medicine, as it helps to prevent dehydration and kidney damage.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once. Aciclovir 400mg Tablets are not usually harmful unless you take too much over several days.
What if I miss a dose?
