What is this medicine?
DAPASMART 10 mg Tablet contains Dapagliflozin, which is a SGLT2 inhibitor (Sodium-Glucose Co-Transporter 2 inhibitor). This medicine is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus by helping your kidneys remove glucose from your blood via urine. It may also be prescribed for patients with heart failure or chronic kidney disease, as it helps reduce the risk of hospitalization and slows disease progression.
What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth, usually once daily, with or without food. Swallow it with a glass of water at the same time each day.
Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Do not stop this medicine without consulting your doctor.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or go to an emergency room immediately.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s close to your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
What may interact with this medicine?

Insulin or drugs that increase insulin release (e.g., glimepiride, glipizide)

Diuretics (water pills), which may increase dehydration risk

Stop the medicine and contact your doctor if you experience pain, redness, or swelling in the genital area (especially in males), which may indicate a rare infection called Fournier’s gangrene.
