What is this medicine?
GONNAPRO (spironolactone 25 mg) is a potassium-sparing diuretic (also known as an aldosterone antagonist). It is used to treat conditions such as high blood pressure, heart failure, fluid retention (edema), and conditions with excess aldosterone. It is also used in some cases to treat acne, hirsutism (excess hair growth), or hormonal imbalances like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

High levels of potassium in the blood (hyperkalemia)

How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. You can take it with or without food, but take it the same way each time. Take your doses at regular intervals as prescribed by your doctor.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
