What is this medicine?
IVECARE (IVERMECTIN 12 mg) is an antiparasitic agent. It is used to treat infections caused by certain parasites, including intestinal strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis (river blindness). It is also used off-label to manage conditions such as scabies and head lice. Ivermectin works by paralyzing and killing the parasites.
What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth with a full glass of water, preferably on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals). Follow the instructions provided by your doctor or health care professional.
Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than prescribed. Do not stop taking this medicine unless directed by your doctor.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
What may interact with this medicine?

What should I watch for while using this medicine?
Visit your doctor or health care professional for regular follow-up.
If you are being treated for onchocerciasis, you may experience a Mazzotti reaction (fever, rash, swollen lymph nodes, joint/muscle pain) due to the death of the parasites. Contact your doctor if symptoms are severe.
Avoid drinking alcohol while on this medication as it may enhance side effects like dizziness or drowsiness.
Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything that requires mental alertness until you know how this medicine affects you. Stand up slowly to reduce dizziness, especially if you are elderly.
Women should inform their doctor if they become pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Ivermectin should be used in pregnancy only if clearly needed.
