  • Blood cell disorders such as sickle cell anemia, leukemia, or multiple myeloma

  • Eye problems such as retinitis pigmentosa or sudden vision loss

  • Deformity of the penis or conditions such as Peyronie’s disease

  • Bleeding disorders

  • Stomach ulcers

  • An unusual or allergic reaction to sildenafil, other PDE5 inhibitors, foods, dyes, or preservatives

  • If you are taking nitrates for chest pain

  • Pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breast-feeding (not recommended for use in women)


How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth with a full glass of water, about 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. It may be taken with or without food, but a high-fat meal may delay the effect. Do not take more than one dose in a 24-hour period.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately.


What if I miss a dose?
This medicine is used on an as-needed basis. It is not intended for regular use, so a missed dose is not applicable.

  • Chest pain, dizziness, or nausea during sexual activity

Avoid excessive alcohol as it can worsen side effects like dizziness or lower the effectiveness of the medicine.

This medicine does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) including HIV. Use protective measures during sexual activity.

Do not take this medicine if you are also using nitrates for chest pain or if you have been advised by your doctor to avoid sexual activity due to heart problems.
