What is this medicine?
MINOXIBOON (Minoxidil 5 mg) is a vasodilator. This medicine is used to treat severe high blood pressure (hypertension) that has not responded to other treatments. It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. It may also be used off-label for promoting hair growth, although this is typically in topical form.

How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. Take it exactly as directed by your doctor, usually once daily. Do not take more often than prescribed.
This medicine is often given with a diuretic (water pill) and a beta-blocker or other antihypertensive medication to reduce side effects.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
What if I miss a dose?
