What is this medicine?
MOMENTA 10 Tablet contains Montelukast Sodium 10 mg, which is a leukotriene receptor antagonist. This medicine is used to prevent and manage asthma symptoms, and to relieve symptoms of seasonal allergies (hay fever) or perennial allergic rhinitis. It works by blocking substances called leukotrienes that cause narrowing and inflammation in the airways and contribute to allergy symptoms.
What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water, with or without food. It is usually taken once daily in the evening, or as directed by your doctor.
Take your doses at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Do not stop taking this medicine without your doctor’s advice, even if you feel better.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

This medicine is not for the relief of acute asthma attacks. Always have a rescue inhaler available and use it as prescribed.

Montelukast has been linked to changes in mood or behavior, including agitation, aggression, hallucinations, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Tell your doctor right away if you or your child notice unusual behavior or mood changes.

Continue using all asthma medications as prescribed unless your doctor tells you to stop.
