What is this medicine?

RELIKAST LC is a combination medicine containing Montelukast (a leukotriene receptor antagonist) and Levocetirizine (an antihistamine). It is used to treat allergic rhinitis (such as sneezing, runny or blocked nose, and itchy eyes) and may also be prescribed for asthma-related symptoms. It helps reduce inflammation and allergic responses.


What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • kidney disease

  • liver disease

  • phenylketonuria (PKU)

  • epilepsy or history of seizures

  • mental health issues, including depression or suicidal thoughts

  • an unusual or allergic reaction to montelukast, levocetirizine, cetirizine, hydroxyzine, other antihistamines, or any ingredients in this medicine

  • pregnant or trying to get pregnant

  • breast-feeding


How should I use this medicine?

Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. You may take it with or without food. Take it at the same time each day, usually in the evening.

Follow the directions on your prescription label. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Do not stop taking the medicine without talking to your doctor.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.


What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.


What may interact with this medicine?

  • alcohol

  • other antihistamines or sedatives

  • phenobarbital

  • phenytoin

  • rifampin

  • medications that depress the central nervous system

What should I watch for while using this medicine?

This medicine may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs mental alertness until you know how the drug affects you. Avoid alcohol as it can increase drowsiness and dizziness.

Tell your doctor right away if you experience mood changes, suicidal thoughts, or unusual behavior.

Avoid taking other antihistamines or allergy medications unless approved by your doctor.

Where should I keep my medicine?
