What is this medicine?
RIVASMART 20mg contains Rivaroxaban, an oral anticoagulant (blood thinner). It belongs to a group of medicines called direct Factor Xa inhibitors. It is used to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. It is also used to treat and prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) and to prevent blood clots following hip or knee replacement surgery.
What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

bleeding disorders or recent episodes of abnormal bleeding

active gastrointestinal ulcer or recent gastrointestinal bleeding

liver disease or liver problems associated with bleeding

kidney disease or on dialysis

history of brain stroke or TIA (mini-stroke)

recent surgery or trauma

if you have antiphospholipid syndrome (APS)

How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth with food, usually once daily, or as directed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. It is important to take it at the same time every day for maximum benefit.
Do not stop taking this medicine without your doctor’s approval, even if you feel well.
Overdosage:
If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
What if I miss a dose?

If you are taking it once daily: take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s close to the next dose, skip the missed one and take only the next scheduled dose.
