What is this medicine?
SERTALINE (present in Sertim 50 mg) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). This medicine is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder, and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). It works by increasing serotonin levels in the brain, helping to improve mood, sleep, appetite, and energy levels, while reducing fear, anxiety, and unwanted thoughts.
What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water. You may take it with or without food, but take it at the same time each day. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Do not take your medicine more often than directed. Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly, except on your doctor’s advice.
Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.
What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take only the next scheduled dose. Do not take double or extra doses.
What may interact with this medicine?

Avoid alcohol as it may increase drowsiness or the risk of side effects.
Do not stop taking sertraline suddenly. Your doctor will reduce your dose gradually to avoid withdrawal symptoms like mood changes, irritability, agitation, dizziness, numbness, or sleep disturbances.
