What is this medicine?
SHYTOMEL (Liothyronine Sodium) is a synthetic form of triiodothyronine (T3), a thyroid hormone. It is used to treat hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), myxedema, and sometimes in combination with levothyroxine (T4) in certain thyroid hormone replacement regimens. It may also be used during thyroid suppression tests or for the treatment of thyroid cancer.
