What is this medicine?

SLEEPOSE 7.5 mg contains Zopiclone, a non-benzodiazepine sedative-hypnotic. It is used to treat short-term insomnia (difficulty falling asleep, frequent wake-ups, or early awakening). It helps you fall asleep faster and reduces nighttime awakenings.


What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • liver or kidney disease

  • history of drug or alcohol abuse

  • breathing problems such as sleep apnea or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

  • depression or other mental health conditions

  • muscle weakness (e.g., myasthenia gravis)

  • previous head injury

  • an unusual or allergic reaction to zopiclone, other sleeping aids, or any ingredients in the tablet

  • pregnant or trying to get pregnant

  • breast-feeding


How should I use this medicine?

Take this medicine by mouth with a full glass of water just before bedtime. Take it only when you are able to get a full night’s sleep (at least 7 to 8 hours).

Do not take more than directed. Do not use for longer than prescribed—usually not more than 7 to 10 days continuously, unless instructed by your doctor.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.


What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose and you still intend to sleep, take it as soon as possible. Do not take this medicine if you do not have time to sleep at least 7–8 hours. Do not take double or extra doses.


What may interact with this medicine?

  • alcohol

  • other sedatives or sleeping pills

  • medicines for depression or anxiety (e.g., SSRIs, benzodiazepines)

  • antihistamines that cause drowsiness (e.g., diphenhydramine)

  • opioid painkillers

  • antifungal medications (like ketoconazole)

  • antibiotics like erythromycin

  • medicines used for seizures (e.g., carbamazepine, phenytoin)

What should I watch for while using this medicine?

  • This medicine is intended for short-term use only. Prolonged use may cause dependence, withdrawal symptoms, or reduced effectiveness.

  • Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine—it can increase side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, and breathing difficulties.

  • Use caution when getting out of bed—this medicine may cause sleepwalking, confusion, or falls, especially in older adults.

  • Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything that requires mental alertness the next day if you feel drowsy or groggy.

  • Contact your doctor if your insomnia does not improve within 7 to 10 days or if it worsens.

  • Let your doctor know if you experience unusual behavior while asleep (e.g., driving, eating, or making phone calls while not fully awake).


What side effects may I notice from this medicine?

Side effects that you should report to your doctor or health care professional as soon as possible:

  • allergic reactions (skin rash, itching, swelling of the face/lips/throat, difficulty breathing)

  • confusion or memory problems

  • severe dizziness or fainting

  • hallucinations

  • behavioral changes such as aggression, agitation, or suicidal thoughts

  • sleepwalking or engaging in activities while not fully awake

  • difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report if they continue or are bothersome):

  • drowsiness or feeling sleepy the next day

  • dry mouth or bitter/metallic taste

  • dizziness or lightheadedness

  • headache

  • stomach upset
