What is this medicine?
SPIRONOLACTONE is a potassium-sparing diuretic (water pill) and an aldosterone antagonist. It is used to treat conditions like high blood pressure, heart failure, swelling (edema), and conditions with excess aldosterone. It can also be prescribed for hormonal acne or hirsutism in women.
