What is this medicine?
URIDER D Tablet is a combination of Tolterodine (an antimuscarinic agent) and Dutasteride (a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor). This medicine is used to treat overactive bladder symptoms like frequent or urgent urination and urinary incontinence in men who also have benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)—an enlarged prostate. It helps by relaxing bladder muscles and shrinking the prostate to improve urine flow and reduce symptoms.


What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • Narrow-angle glaucoma

  • Liver disease

  • Kidney disease

  • Urinary retention or difficulty passing urine

  • Stomach or intestinal blockage

  • History of prostate cancer

  • A known allergy to tolterodine, dutasteride, finasteride, or similar drugs

  • If you have had bladder or bowel obstruction

  • If you are donating blood (dutasteride can be present in donated blood and may harm a pregnant recipient)

  • If your partner is pregnant or planning pregnancy (dutasteride can be absorbed through the skin)


How should I use this medicine?
Take this medicine by mouth with water. Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, chew, or open. Take your dose at the same time each day. Do not take more than prescribed. Do not stop using it without your doctor’s advice.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room immediately.


What if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take double or extra doses.


What may interact with this medicine?

  • Antifungal medications like ketoconazole or itraconazole

  • Antibiotics like erythromycin or clarithromycin

  • HIV protease inhibitors like ritonavir

  • Other antimuscarinic medications (used for bladder or stomach issues)

  • Other 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors (e.g., finasteride)

  • Medicines that affect liver enzymes (CYP3A4 inhibitors or inducers)

What should I watch for while using this medicine?

  • Continue seeing your doctor regularly to monitor prostate health and urine flow.

  • This medicine may take several weeks to months to show full effects.

  • Avoid activities requiring mental alertness (driving, operating machinery) until you know how this medicine affects you.

  • Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not handle crushed or broken tablets due to risk to the unborn male fetus.

  • Inform your doctor if symptoms worsen, or if you experience painful urination, blood in urine, or severe abdominal pain.

  • Tell your doctor before donating blood while using this medicine and for at least 6 months after stopping it.


What side effects may I notice from this medicine?

Side effects to report to your doctor right away:

  • Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, swelling of face/lips/tongue/throat

  • Difficulty urinating or painful urination

  • Severe abdominal pain

  • Fast or irregular heartbeat

  • Signs of liver problems: yellowing of skin/eyes, dark urine, upper abdominal pain

  • Breast tenderness or enlargement in men

Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report if bothersome or persistent):

  • Dry mouth

  • Constipation

  • Dizziness

  • Headache

  • Fatigue

  • Decreased libido or sexual dysfunction

Where should I keep my medicine?
Keep out of reach of children.

Store at room temperature between 20 and 25°C (68–77°F). Protect from moisture and light. Do not use tablets after the expiration date. Do not store in the bathroom.
