VORIZOL 200 mg Tablet contains Voriconazole, an antifungal medicine. It is used to treat serious fungal infections, including aspergillosis, candidemia (yeast infection in the blood), and certain rare fungal infections that are resistant to other antifungals. It works by stopping the growth of fungi by interfering with the production of their cell membranes.


What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • Liver disease

  • Kidney disease

  • Heart rhythm problems (e.g., QT prolongation)

  • History of allergic reaction to azole antifungals (e.g., fluconazole, itraconazole)

  • Eye problems

  • Galactose intolerance or Lapp lactase deficiency

  • An unusual or allergic reaction to voriconazole, other antifungal medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives

  • Pregnant or trying to get pregnant

  • Breast-feeding


How should I use this medicine?

Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water, at least 1 hour before or 1 hour after meals, to ensure better absorption. Take your doses at regular intervals, usually every 12 hours as prescribed.

Do not take more than directed. Do not stop taking this medicine unless advised by your doctor, even if you feel better.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.


What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.


What may interact with this medicine?

  • Rifampin, rifabutin

  • Carbamazepine, phenytoin

  • Efavirenz (HIV medication)

  • Ergot alkaloids (e.g., ergotamine)

  • Quinidine

  • Pimozide

  • Sirolimus, tacrolimus, cyclosporine

  • Statins (e.g., simvastatin, lovastatin)

  • Oral contraceptives

  • Certain antibiotics and antivirals

  • Herbal supplements like St. John’s Wort
